In the GeoMechanics lab we run permeability tests over a wide range of permeability space, from loosely consolidated sands to tight gas shales. We have four distinct systems to measure permeability: a Darcy permeameter, derived through low-pressure triaxial testing, on mudstone samples during CRS testing, and steady state or pulse transient decay permeability on tight gas shales in a biaxial core holder.
