With High Fidelity Ice Sheet Models

By:
Dr. Omar Ghattas
Department of Geological Sciences
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Institute for Computational Engineering & Sciences
University of Texas at Austin

When:

Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Join us for coffee beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Where:

BEG Main Conference Room, 10100 Burnet Road, Bldg 130, Austin, Texas 78758

Host:

Charles Jackson, UTIG

Dr. Ghattas discusses a new initiative at UT aimed at developing a state-of-the art parallel adaptive ice sheet dynamics model, endowing the model with adjoint-based sensitivity information, and using the model to quantify uncertainties in model parameters from observational data.
